Your influences are the people, books, movies and environments that are shaping your thoughts, influencing your feelings and determining the actions you consciously and unconsciously take. The result can be positive and uplifting or negative and the source of much frustration.

 

Let’s explore the three most powerful influences that affect your life:

 

1- What you watch, read and listen to.

 

People often spend considerable amounts of time watching TV and movies.  They are spending time on social media as well as listening to music and reading magazines. Consider that what you see and hear goes into your mind and influences what shows up in your life.
Are watching too much television? How would you rate the quality of music and books that are currently influencing your life?

2- What you think about.

 

Every one of us has an inner voice. It runs on autopilot and is constantly dwelling on our every thought- positive and negative- everyday. Our thoughts become the ‘seeds’ that, in time, will ‘reap what we sow’.
Take a moment and listen to what is going on in your mind? Are your thoughts moving you towards your goals or are they keeping you stuck?

3- Who you associate with.

 

The single greatest influence on your life is the people you spend the most time with. It is said that your life is the average of the five people you most associate with.  Now consider the five people you spend the most time with. Is the quality of your life a direct reflection of the quality of those five relationships? Is your present circle of influence creating an environment that is moving you towards your goals?
